3M™ Novec™ Electronic Grade Coatings

3M™ Novec™ coatings are a family of fluorinated polymers designed to protect both the outer surfaces and inner workings of modern electronic products.

Electronic device component protection surface modifier coatings are designed to protect the device from environmental contaminants such as moisture, corrosive gases and other airborne contamination. With low surface tension, they coat thinly and evenly over surfaces to ensure complete coverage and repel moisture.

Novec electronic grade coatings can be applied to a variety of components including:

  • Printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Hybrid circuits
  • Micro motors
  • Ink jet heads - to allow for free flow
  • Disk drive components
  • MR heads
